CRIB BALL 2018: ISLAND OF THEMYSCIRA - WARRIORS AND GODDESSES

Inspired by the strength and valour of the Amazonian women, this year’s CRIB Ball, “Island of Themyscira: Warriors and Goddesses”, is a nod to famous warrior and demi-goddess, Wonder Woman, who stands for peace and is known for her unparalleled love for humankind and earth.

In this spirit The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Hotel Singapore will be transformed into a lush, green island of paradise where we will celebrate the most fearless women in Singapore, their remarkable achievements, inspiring stories, and the entrepreneurial spirit. This spectacular evening will feature a seated dinner, a silent and a live auction of unique experiences and luxury items, and a variety of musical and artistic performances.

All this is in support of meaningful causes, through the work of CRIB’s philanthropic arm CRIB Gives Back.  Each year, we rely on corporate and private sponsors to help us deliver our mission and drive positive impact in the local community and beyond.

At the core of CRIB is also a desire to make a positive impact on the community. CRIB Gives Back, our charity arm, works with like-minded individuals in philanthropy and impact investing; raises funds and awareness for beneficiary charities that help women and children in need; and provides support for social enterprises.

Each year CRIB Gives Back thoughtfully chooses beneficiary charities to support, each with a worthy cause.  Our 2017 beneficiary was EmancipAction, an NGO which fights sex trafficking of women and girls in India.

We also support Operation Hope Foundation through CRIB’s “Holiday for Hope” programme. In our first Holiday for Hope,  members of the CRIB community took a meaningful family holiday to Siem Reap to support a local primary school and community in Cambodia, funding school facilities and sanitation systems.

In 2018, the new foundation that CRIB Gives Back is working with is Mister Morris Foundation. It was founded to support a holistic social center called Anugerah on Bintan comprised of an orphanage, an elderly home, a school, and medical centre; as well as several other programs, including an education initiative, which provides scholarships for students looking to enroll in Hotel Business Education.

Nathalie Emmanuel

We are excited to announce that actress Nathalie Emmanuel who has gained international recognition by starring as Missandei in the HBO fantasy and Emmy Award winning, series “Game of Thrones” will be attending the CRIB Ball as our special guest. She has also played in hit Hollywood films starring alongside Vin Diesel in Furious 7 and Charlize Theron in Maze Runner: The Death Cure.

CRIB BALL 2017: EMPRESS’S JOURNEY

CRIB Ball’s 2017 beneficiary charity, EmancipAction, is an international, non-profit organization that is working to disrupt the business of child sex trafficking. EmancipAction aims to bring freedom, healing and justice to hundreds of thousands of young women and children who have been abused and exploited to fill a growing demand for commercial sex, starting from its home base in India.

Through our charity arm, CRIB Gives Back, we aided in launching EmancipAction’s Project Savera, which works to bring the best minds in mental health and technology to develop a holistic approach to care that transforms outcomes for child victims of sex trafficking and extreme sexual violence in institutional care.
